Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a high level of understanding of technical requirements, procedures, and principles.
- Industry Knowledge: Exhibit knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and regulatory requirements.
- Tax Preparation and Review: Manage and monitor the preparation and review of complex tax returns, including S Corporation, C Corporation, partnership, not-for-profit, multi-state, and individual tax returns, projections, IRS Account Monitoring, and estimate calculations.
- Tax Strategy: Oversee tax projections, planning, and strategy, ensuring all tax filings are accurate and submitted on time.
- Compliance: Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Advisory: Provide advice and guidance on tax-related matters to other departments.
- External Relationships: Manage relationships with external tax advisors for timely and cost-effective service delivery.
- Technical Research: Review and advise on technical research memoranda and work papers for various book-to-tax differences.
- Client Communication: Collaborate with colleagues to provide quality service to clients and engage in professional communication.
- Client Meetings: Lead client meetings and promote additional services when appropriate.
- Client Knowledge: Develop intimate knowledge of clients and their business activities.
- IRS Communication: Communicate with the IRS and other state authorities professionally.
- Team Management: Delegate responsibilities effectively, providing proper instructions, monitoring, and coaching.
- Training: Conduct training sessions for associates.
- Project Management: Manage projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion, and managing budgets.
- Open Communication: Maintain open communication with the team regarding project progress.
- Development: Participate in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and facilitator.
- Billing: Handle all aspects of billing, including client inquiries, and develop appropriate fee quotes for new tax engagements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; Master's preferred.
- Certification: CPA or EA certification required
- Experience: 5+ years of tax experience.
- Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Federal and income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, and strong project management and delegation skills.
