Position: Construction Electrician
Location: Virginia
Overview: As a Construction Electrician, you will report to the Construction Group Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing all types of electrical systems and associated electrical equipment primarily in heavy industrial or commercial environments. The successful candidate is well organized, can communicate effectively on both a technical and non-technical level, works well with other employees, possesses a strong work ethic, and always presents themselves in a professional and courteous manner.
Essential Job Functions of a Construction Electrician:
- Demonstrates knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution concepts, and applications
- Demonstrates a safe approach to electrical work where safe work practices are a habit
- Ability to read and understand the National Electrical Code and its implementation; follows state and local building regulations regarding the National Electrical Code
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical drawings, and manufacturer's installation manuals and apply the information to complete assigned tasks
- Experience installing conduit, wiring, panelboards, safety switches, transformers, pushbuttons, etc. in industrial and commercial environments
- Experience installing and maintaining power and lighting systems
- Able to identify electrical problems utilizing a variety of testing devices
- Installs, repairs, and replaces wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
- Must possess excellent mechanical and/or construction skills
Preferred Experience: Five (5) years of experience as an electrician
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent certificate
Preferred Certification/Experience: Journeyman/Master Electrical License Desired
