Controller - Commercial Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee our financial operations in the commercial construction sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the financial integrity of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with industry regulations while providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth. We are a highly respected and top-tier Construction company in the area focusing on large commercial and Multi-Family projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all financial aspects of the company including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and tax obligations related to commercial construction.
- Lead the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records and implementing effective financial controls.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with project managers to develop and monitor project budgets and profitability.
- Prepare and present financial reports to executive management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate audits and manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the commercial construction industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Sage 300 Accounting Software Experience
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
