THIS IS AN HYBRID ROLE
Based in Gibbstown, we have maintained a strong reputation for producing high- tech products in dental, cosmetic, and veterinary industries. Due to growth and demand for our services, we are in need of hiring for a Controller that possesses strong experience with chemical industry.
Responsibilities:
Create, preserve, and advance a robust environment for internal controls in alignment with GAAP and accounting principles. Determine gaps and create procedures or instruments to fill them in.
Collaborate with the supply chain to reduce carrying costs, maximize inventory turnover, and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
Make sure that the valuation assertions are accurate, complete, and up to date. This includes managing inventory cost-related reserves, organizing periodic physical inventories, identifying overage and aging material issues, keeping an eye on inventory levels, and reconciling monthly inventory balances.
Oversee variance analysis and standard cost. Create and keep track of material bills, product routings, labor, and overhead expenses.
Make sure that the targeted margins are being sought and that the financial assumptions about labor, material, and overhead are accurate. Analyze and project the cost of production. To support the standard cost revaluation procedures, plan, gather, and analyze data; periodically implement cost updates.
Oversee the yearly expense roll-up for every location. Carry out variance analysis and keep an eye on budget adherence.
Follow GAAP when implementing cost accounting rules and procedures. Take the lead in developing and managing costing techniques.
Create cost estimates for new goods and company ventures before making decision. Run pricing models under various scenarios. When deciding on prices, collaborate with other important executives. Prepare and assess the profitability of the items and customers.
Oversee the performance of the plants in terms of production analysis, inventories, and sales (margins). Demonstrate a capacity to transform vast amounts of data into meaningful information and create prediction models using that information. Inform top management of relevant challenges, risks, and opportunities connected to cost-related performance.
Find ways to cut the plant's overall delivered cost, support initiatives, and offer leadership in terms of ideas and approaches to help the plant's ongoing process-improvement projects.
Oversee fixed asset management, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and idle asset reporting, as well as the evaluation of CAPEX projects' return on investment (ROI) to aid in decision-making.
Oversee the month-end for every financial cycle close; create journal entries for cost distribution, inventory adjustments, and reserve analysis; and evaluate and balance important inventories. Create and evaluate recurring financial reports.
Lead or take part in relevant large-scale projects, such as putting large business process applications into place, evaluating the needs for systems, and making recommendations for automation and BI use. Improve the production and inventory management modules of the DAX ERP system.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
7+ years of accounting experience int he manufacturing industry (preferably chemical)
4+ years of management experience
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
CPA or CMA preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP
DAX knowledge preferred but not required
