Salary: $120k-135k + Benefits & Bonus

Based in Houston, TX we are a consumer electronics manufacturing company with a uniquely durable line of products and a talented, growing team. Due to this growth, we are searching for an experienced Accounting Manager or Controller.
Position Overview
The Controller will oversee our accounting operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will lead our finance department, manage accounting activities, and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency. We are a lean startup, the ability to work quickly and cross functionally with a dynamic team is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and accounting associates
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify financial vulnerabilities and mitigate potential issues.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights that support business decisions.
- Assist in tax preparation and compliance efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or QB Online and Excel is required; experience with NetSuite or Sage is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and GAAP standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Experience in the retail, ecommerce or consumer product sectors is preferred.
- Ability to analyze financial data and recommend process improvements/internal controls
