THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE (ONE WEEK ON SITE, 2-3 WEEKS AT HOME)

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for various industrial applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of automated systems, playing a crucial role in optimizing production processes.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development: To guarantee the smooth operation of machinery and procedures, design and implement control system architectures, such as PLC programs, HMI, and SCADA systems.
Automation Integration: To increase output and decrease downtime, incorporate automation technologies into current manufacturing procedures and equipment.
Dynamic Machine Programming: This ensures optimal energy utilization and system efficiency by programming machinery to change its operation (speed up/slow down, turn on/off) based on available power from external sources (like solar energy) or preset programs.
Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Installation and Programming (Preferred): VFDs are best suited for controlling machinery speeds and optimizing power consumption, particularly in energy-conscious settings.
Troubleshooting and Support: To reduce interruptions and preserve seamless operations, production teams receive technical assistance while control system problems are identified and fixed.
System Upgrades and Maintenance: To maximize performance and guarantee adherence to safety requirements and industry standards, undertake preventative maintenance and upgrade current control systems.
Project Management: Oversee automation projects from inception to completion, including wiring diagram creation, control system component specification, and deadline compliance.
Documentation: Create and keep up-to-date precise documentation for both new and old systems, such as control schematics, software logic diagrams, and user manuals.
Cooperation: To comprehend system needs and create unique control solutions, work together with cross-functional teams that include factory workers, electricians, and mechanical engineers.
Compliance: Verify that all control systems and projects abide with business rules, industry safety standards, and laws.
Continuous Improvement: Find ways to automate tasks and improve control systems to cut costs and improve processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field
3+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer or similar role
Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
Experience with HMI/SCADA systems
Familiarity with VFD installation and configuration
Proficient with AutoCAD
Experience with VFD installation and programming preferred
Robotic system and automation experience preferred
ISA Certified Control Systems Technician Certification preferred
Knowledge of industry specific controls (HVAC, process control, automotive, or packaging) preferred
