We are seeking a Regional EHS Manager to join our Health, Safety, and Environment team based in Atlanta, Georgia. This role reports to the Director of Regional Environment, Health, and Safety and is responsible for implementing and coordinating environmental policies, programs, and procedures across the region. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legal, corporate, and regulatory requirements while supporting strategic environmental initiatives and sustainability efforts across various sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead on environmental compliance matters, interpreting Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- Support plants during inspections and handle formal responses to governmental agencies in collaboration with legal teams.
- Evaluate regulatory landscapes and establish strategic direction for compliance based on risk, trends, and anticipated changes.
- Provide technical support for corrective actions related to violations or permit deviations across environmental media (air, water, waste, etc.).
- Lead regional compliance efforts, including Title V, MACT, RCRA, NPDES, and spill prevention programs.
- Assist in expansions and permitting efforts in collaboration with the Capital Projects EHS team.
- Support the sites in maintaining accreditation with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards.
- Establish and manage an internal audit program, including auditor training and coordination with third-party auditors.
- Develop and implement fundamental compliance standards for sites that do not certify to ISO standards, focusing on risk assessment, recordkeeping, and corrective action.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in EHS or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal environmental laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Leadership skills to guide, mentor, and develop personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to quickly adapt to new technologies.
- Subject matter expertise in Title V, RCRA, and CWA.
- Ability to travel up to 50-60%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
- Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the aluminum industry.
- Knowledge of aluminum manufacturing processes and ISO 14001/45001 management systems.
