Based in Grand Rapids, MI, we are a well-established, employee-owned Civil Engineering firm. We have an immediate opening for a Senior-level Professional Land Surveyor to join our team. This is a key departmental position with the expectation that the right candidate will assist with the management of the Survey Department. This position is for a PLS dedicated to the office, with no field work required. We also offer flexibility for part time remote work if desired.
Position Overview:
A Senior Professional Land Surveyor is required to provide technical expertise in conducting boundary and topographic surveys, drafting proposals, reviewing and signing/stamping project deliverables, providing budgets to clients, and construction staking (ALTA/NSPS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct boundary and topographic surveys
- Draft proposals
- Review and sign/stamp project deliverables
- Provide budgets to clients
- Construction staking (ALTA/NSPS)
- Supervise junior staff and survey crews
- Analyze field data and complete calculations
- Develop high-level quality assurance/quality control processes for project delivery
- Provide technical advice and guidance to project stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying or related
- Active Licensure in Michigan + IL and IN is desired
- Minimum of 5-10 years' experience as a Professional Land Surveyor
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D software, Star*Net, and Leica Infinity software platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively draft proposals
- Strong knowledge of state and local laws and regulations related to land surveying
- Familiarity with modern survey equipment and GPS technology
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
