Position Overview:
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and documenting construction projects that require structural engineering expertise. The Structural Engineer will work with clients, contractors, and other engineers to ensure projects are designed and built according to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop structural designs for projects utilizing steel, concrete, and/or wood, and other materials.
- Prepare drawings, calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
- Perform complex analysis and calculations related to structural engineering Interpret and apply building codes, engineering standards, and construction regulations.
- Develop cost estimates, project scopes, and materials lists
- Assist with construction administration, including shop drawing reviews, change orders, and site visits
- Support project teams in the planning, design, and construction phases Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders throughout all phases of projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil or Architectural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE), or Engineering-in-Training (EIT)
- 4+ years of experience
- Knowledge of architecture, framing design, foundation design, and lateral design
- Proficiency in Revit, RISA, IBC, and other software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Leadership, organizational, analytical problem solving, and self-starter skills
- Ability to work on single-family, multi-family, and industrial/commercial/residential projects
- Experience with wood truss, stick framing, and concrete/masonry design
- Knowledge of litigation and software engineering a plus Experience in recruiting and project management is a plus
- Cold form steel experience is a plus
