Tax Preparer

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to assist clients with their tax returns and ensure compliance with all relevant tax codes and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax laws and possess the ability to effectively communicate with clients to help them navigate the tax preparation process.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses
Review client financial records to determine tax liabilities and opportunities for deductions
Stay informed about current tax codes and regulations to provide accurate advice
Utilize tax software such as Lacerte, ProConnect, and QuickBooks to streamline the preparation process
Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation and answer tax-related questions
Conduct tax research to resolve complex tax issues and ensure compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proven experience in tax return preparation
Familiarity with tax software including Lacerte, ProConnect, and QuickBooks Online
Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes
Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
CPA or EA certification preferred
