Director of Accounting - Manufacturing

Overview: 

We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual to join our team as the Director of Accounting. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial accounting and reporting, establishing consistent accounting processes across all locations, and providing insightful financial analyses. This position will report to the President and work closely with the Director of Finance. Spearheading the establishment of proper accounting processes and procedures in adherence to U.S. GAAP will be an essential facet of this position. Working cross-functionally with our corporate finance team, this position will oversee the financial reporting and analysis of the organization, on monthly, quarterly, and annualized bases. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead the direction, training, and evaluation of accounting staff.
• Maintain legal compliance and risk management.
• Update and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Develop and ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies.
• Evaluate financial submissions and account reconciliations.
• Conduct pre-submission reviews of quarterly financial statements.
• Collaborate with senior management for program revenue recognition estimates.
• Assess inventory costing methodology and variance treatment.
• Act as the primary liaison for corporate financial requirements, including internal and external audits.
• Provide technical accounting training to the finance team.
• Document revenue recognition for contracts in accordance with corporate standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred, with Big 4 Accounting experience.
• 10+ years of experience in public and private sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of SOX 404.
• Prior manufacturing industry experience, deep expertise in cost accounting and project accounting.
• SEC reporting experience is highly preferred.
• Proficient in U.S. GAAP and new accounting guidance.
• Hands-on experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Accounting Software, MS Office(Excel, Word, etc.)
