Fire Sprinkler Design Director

Position Overview
The Fire Sprinkler Design Director is responsible for leading the design and engineering of fire sprinkler systems for a variety of projects. This role involves overseeing a team of designers and engineers, ensuring compliance with national standards and regulations while delivering high-quality designs that meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the fire sprinkler design team, providing direction and guidance on projects.
  • Develop and review detailed fire sprinkler system designs using industry-standard software.
  • Ensure all designs comply with NFPA codes and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Conduct hydraulic calculations and system analysis to ensure optimal performance of fire sprinkler systems.
  • Review and approve design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
  • Mentor junior designers and engineers, fostering professional growth and development within the team.
  • Participate in project meetings and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Travel to other company branches to meet with their design teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fire sprinkler design, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, particularly NFPA 13 and NFPA 20.
  • Proficiency in design software such as HydraCAD, SprinkCAD, AutoSPRINK, and Revit.
  • NICET certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to travel to other company branches, as needed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
