Human Services & Healthcare Attorney

Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable Human Services & Healthcare Attorney to join our legal team in Buffalo, NY. This role is focused on providing expert legal counsel on a wide range of healthcare regulations, corporate governance, and compliance issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare law and a passion for business development and client service. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on healthcare regulatory matters and compliance issues regarding home health agencies, nursing facilities, hospitals, adult care facilities ect.
  • Assist in corporate governance and transactional matters related to a range of healthcare organizations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in healthcare-related litigation and negotiations.
  • Assist in investigations related to healthcare compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Assist with mergers, acquisitions and affiliations  of health care entity and physician practices
  • Draft and review legal documents including contracts, policies, and procedures relevant to healthcare practices.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor
  • Active state bar membership in the state of NY
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare law or related practice areas.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, corporate governance, and compliance.
  • Experience with Anti-Kickback, Fraud and Abuse, HIPAA and telemedicine is preferred
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and other legal professionals.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary for this position, ranging between $120,000 -$140,000 annually. We offer Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K plans. We have an annual standard of 1800 billable hours with 50 hours of pro bono service(treated as billable). We have a set partnership track, so you'll know where you're headed from day 1!
