Position Overview
The Heavy-Civil Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing large-scale civil construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with all specifications and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and oversee heavy civil construction projects from inception to completion.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Coordinate with DOT representatives and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Supervise and mentor project staff and subcontractors to ensure high-quality work.
• Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to assess project progress and address any issues that arise.
• Prepare and present project reports and updates to stakeholders and management.

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading and interpreting highway construction plans
• Strong understanding of construction survey grades
• Proven experience managing construction crews and projects
• In-depth knowledge of asphalt milling and paving operations (preferred)
• Familiarity with VDOT Design-Build and Bid-Build projects (preferred)
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Civil Engineering or related degree preferred (relevant experience considered in lieu of degree)
• 5+ years of DOT highway construction experience (preferred)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
