We are a prime multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm that has been serving our clients in the public and private sectors in DC-MD-VA for over 30 years. We are experience tremendous growth with about 40 prime on-call contracts with various public sector clients. As such we are seeking a Highway Design Engineer to join our team!

Who you are:
Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related field
4+ years of highway/roadway design engineering experience
Experience with MicroStation and highway design software preferably such as Power InRoads, AutoTurn, OpenRoads Designer, ConceptStation
Experience with MDOT and Maryland County DPW projects preferred
EIT/FE
PE or ability to obtain within 6 months
What you will be doing:
Coordinate design elements across various engineering disciplines with other project engineers for the development of plans, specifications, and estimates.
Communicate design progress with project managers and utilize entry-level design engineers to complete tasks.
Be knowledgeable on the design procedures or practices for the applicable client, as well as, maintain a firm understanding on the permit process for various permit review agencies.
Be the lead designer for project development including but not limited to highway, highway drainage, concept design and analysis, horizontal and vertical geometrics, parking lots, site improvements, utilities, maintenance of traffic, signing and pavement markings, ADA, sidewalk design, bicycle facilities, etc.
