Title: Quality Engineering Manager
Location: Schaumburg, IL
Compensation: up to 115k DOE
Position Overview:
The Quality Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet quality standards and comply with ISO 9001 and IATF requirements. This role will involve managing a team of Quality Engineers and collaborating with suppliers to improve quality and reduce defects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering, experience in auditing and root cause analysis, and a thorough understanding of quality control procedures and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain quality control processes and procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and IATF standards- Manage a team of Quality Engineers and provide guidance and support in their daily tasks
- Conduct audits and assessments of suppliers to monitor and improve quality standards
- Utilize root cause analysis to identify and address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate and oversee the PPAP process for new product launches
- Ensure that all manufacturing processes, including stamping, welding, forming, and fabrication, meet quality standards
- Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement quality improvements and support new product development
- Utilize GD&T and Faro measuring techniques to ensure product specifications are met
- Maintain compliance with environmental standards, specifically 14001
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF standards
- Experience with auditing and root cause analysis
- Proficiency in PPAP and quality control procedures
- Working knowledge of stamping, welding, forming, and fabrication processes
- Familiarity with Faro measuring equipment and GD&T- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage a team and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) designation preferred.
