Senior Controls Engineer

Location: Granite City, IL

Salary: 90-130k DOE

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to design control systems and program from scratch. This role requires a strong technical background and the ability to innovate and optimize control solutions to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop control systems for HMI, PLCs, robotics, and vision systems.
Lead projects from conception through implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and deliver optimal control solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to control systems and automation.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians in control system design and troubleshooting.
Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and innovations in control systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering with a focus on HMI, PLC, Robotics, and Vision Systems.
Strong experience designing systems from scratch with PLC and HMI programming including Allen Bradley or Siemens.
Experience with AutoCAD, Studio 5000, and Factory Talk is preferred.
Knowledge of safety standards such as NFPA79, NEC, and UL698.
Familiarity with robotics from manufacturers like Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, and Yaskawa is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
