As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional looking to take on more responsibility and contribute to the growth and success of a client-focused firm.

Job Description:

As a Tax Manager you will be responsible for managing and overseeing a variety of tax services for our clients. Your role will include supervising tax compliance, providing strategic tax planning advice, and working directly with clients to develop solutions for their complex tax issues. You'll also mentor and lead a team of talented professionals, ensuring that projects are completed accurately and efficiently while maintaining the highest level of client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Planning & Compliance: Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities; provide proactive tax planning and advice to clients.
  • Client Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, trusting relationships.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff and senior associates, providing guidance on tax issues and professional growth.
  • Research & Strategy: Stay up-to-date on current tax laws, regulations, and industry trends; lead the charge on technical research and the application of tax strategies.
  • Review & Quality Control: Review complex tax returns and ensure that work is completed with accuracy, attention to detail, and in compliance with federal and state tax laws.
  • Business Development: Assist in identifying opportunities for new services or expanding relationships with existing clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation or CPA preferred).
  • CPA license required (or working towards completion).
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local taxation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with tax software (experience with ProSystem fx Tax, Thomson Reuters, or similar a plus).
