Position Overview

Based in Bustling Houston texas we have been serving our cutomsers for over 30 years. We have been voted one of the best CPA firms to work for multplie years in a row and we are looking to add a seasoned Tax manager to our team. We focus on working hard and living life to its fullest. This is a Hybrid role with tons of flexibility. Max 1-2 Days a week in office and some weeks you'll find yourself home the entire week.

The Tax Manager will oversee the tax compliance and planning functions for our diverse client base, providing expert advice and ensuring adherence to all relevant tax regulations. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality tax services and guiding clients through complex tax matters, including corporate and partnership taxation, as well as non-profit tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for S Corps, C Corps, and Partnerships.
• Manage tax compliance and planning for high net worth individuals and trusts.
• Provide expertise in tax services, including gift and estate tax planning.
• Collaborate with clients to develop tax strategies that optimize their financial position.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring high standards of performance and professional development.
• Stay current on tax laws and regulations, advising clients on changes that may impact their tax situations.
• Utilize tax software such as Ultra Tax and CCH ProSystems for efficient tax preparation and compliance.
• Conduct thorough reviews of tax filings and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or EA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of management experience in public accounting with a focus on tax services.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws, particularly for corporations and partnerships.
• Experience with tax planning and compliance for high net worth individuals and non-profit organizations.
• Proficient in tax preparation software, including Ultra Tax and CCH ProSystems.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
