We are seeking a detail-oriented Underwriter specializing in Professional Liability to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assess and evaluate risks associated with professional services, particularly focusing on lawyers and malpractice insurance. This role is crucial in ensuring that our clients receive appropriate coverage while maintaining the company's risk management standards.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and analyze applications for Professional Liability insurance coverage
Conduct thorough risk assessments for legal professionals and firms
Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and standards
Collaborate with brokers and clients to gather necessary information
Make informed underwriting decisions based on risk evaluation
Monitor and review existing policies for compliance and risk exposure
Provide guidance and support to other team members on underwriting best practices

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent work experience; Bachelors Degree preferred
Minimum of 1 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in Professional Liability or E&O
Valid Michigan P&C license
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in underwriting software and risk assessment tools
